  • Start up Kit, Shopping List, Must Haves

I have been tinkering with cars for a long time, but just recently decided with my extra time I wanted to pick up a hobby and detailing is what came to mind. I have been looking all off the forums and reading and learning alot of great information. I have purchased the book The Art of Detailing. I have read tons of threads about tons of products. I just moved to a new place that allows me the space to detail and I'm starting from scratch.... Not even a water hose and bucket. But thats about to change!

I have tried to put together a list of must haves and just so many opitions I dont know were to start.

I have considered getting this below, than some extra pads and terry cloth/microfiber towels to start. It seems to have everything you need to start. Or would I be better to piece together something myself?

    opinions?

Re: Start up Kit, Shopping List, Must Haves

Looks like a good starter kit, i sort of built my inventory over a period of a year or so checking out ADS, AG and Amazon....reading stuff here, and checking out the local stores for the bulk packs of microfiber towels, etc
Now i have enough stuff to run a small detailing shop, and this is just a hobby to me.
Hopefully the other more experienced members can chime in...

Do your cars need the MF System though? It is kind of jumping to the stronger products.

2 of them are pretty neglected. They get washed but neither have had any wax or clay ever touch them.

I had planned on getting other pads as well to the MF system, it just so happen to sell it in that kit.

          reccomendation

Kits don't work out for me. I'm too picky I would go with the da along with the yellow and blk softbufff pad. Real safe to use. Get ult compound, ult polish, ult liquid wax

Buy some high qualities towels such as cobra microfiber. Don't have to be cobra. Just high quality.Pick up the cobra guzzler for drying car.

If you are new, this might be a better option. Just work your way up through the products until you get to the best. Here is the link: http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/product_detail.do?q=4803

              Re: reccomendation

Oh, I almost forgot, my local Walmart doesn't carry Supreme Shine towels, Water Magnets, or other meguiars accessories, so I am about to buy this just to get the accessories in it. It is $20 at my Walmart. You may like this combined with my first reccomendation. Link: http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/product_detail.do?q=4848
