    Re: Cleaning microfibre rags

My son and I just waxed his new car with Ultimate liquid wax. When removing the wax, we used a combination of two new gold colored Meguiars miocrofibers, and the black microfiber that came in the kit. Then we threw them in the front load washer on gentle/cool with All free and clear soap. Opened the door at the end of wash cycle - 1 black microfiber, and 2 medium grey microfibers. Apparently the Ultimate Liquid Wax microfiber will bleed color in the wash. No, we normally don't mix dark and light clothing, but we have previously done many different colors of microfiber towels in the same load without problems.

Hi, i ended up hand washing the microfiber rags using napi san vanish oxi action powder mixed with hot water, left to sit for half an hour then rinced. The end result was a nice clean rag. Do you think the napisan would damage the fibers?

    Yes.
Edit: If you used the tire shine with any of the microfiber, wash that alone. The endurance tire gel is not good for paint.
For future reference, If you ever use a polish/cleaner, wash those separate from your washing or waxing cloths.

I have a front loader machine. I throw mines in the washing machine with microfiber only. I use very little wisk. DO NOT USE FABRIC SOFTNER AND dry on low or hang to dry somewhere.

    Cleaning microfibre rags

Hello everyone, I recently purchased a new car and thought I'd better wax it rather than pay the dealer for paint protection. So I bought the new car kit which included the car wash, tyre shine, ultimate liquid wax and all the microfibre cloths etc. so I have washed the car and used the liquid wax which worked out excellent, no streaking and the end result beautiful. Now I need to clean the microfibre Cloths, shammy, applicators, washing mitts and othe rags I have used. I've done some research and some say to put it through the washing machine others say to soak. What is everyone's opinion?
