  • White Lexus/ 2 Full Years Worth of Bugs

Long time no post or reply. Hello everyone, I'm detailing my uncles white lexus small suv this week. He lives between a lake and a river and has millions of bugs down there. He has LITERALLY not even washed the car in 2 FULL YEARS. There are so many bugs I can't even feel any paint, let alone the rest of car. It's protected alright with a tons of soil caked on it.

What can I do to possibly get all them layers of bugs off? By the looks of it, It seems like it'll take an entire day to just get the bugs off.
Why walk through life when you can strut.

Try wetting down the vehicle with a lot of water with dish soap in it. This should help to soften the dead bugs. You could also try using a 20-50% solution of IPA to help dissolve the oils and fats of the bugs.
One last suggestion would be to try a bug and tar remover.

You can soak a few towels in water and lay them on the paint over the really soiled areas, this will help loosen all the dried material up and make it easier to wipe off when it comes time.

The best stuff available is Turtle Wax Bug & Tar Remover. It's $3 or $4 at Walmart; only available in a spray bottle now. Don't be afraid to soak the bugs. Also, always use the clean part of the rag.
