Have a completely black Mercedes Benz and a White, trimmed in Gold, RAM truck. The Benz, tks to the service department washing it when I told them not to, has created a lot of swirls and a few minute scratches. Need to know which product/s to get these out.

The RAM truck, white and trimmed in a gold color. What products are recommended for getting the best shine on the White paint and also taking out some minor swirls?

I have a PC and Flex buffer. Will I have to purchase any new pads from Mequiar's and what about a new backing plate.

I also have the 4" pads from another company and need to know if I need a different backing plate for any of your smaller pads.

I have the Universal Grit guard pad cleaning bucker and six of the regular Grit guard buckets.

I also have a lot of different buffing pads that fit the PC and Flex but again, from a different company. Also have an awful lot of the hand (foam) applicators for exterior and also the interior.

Even though I have enough detailing products to last me for about a year, and again, from a different company, I will buy whatever I need from Mequires.

Lots of questions because using Mequiar's products for the first time, want to ensure I have enough of what I need to produce the shine I want.

Micro Fiber towels. I have gobs of those, single and double, waterless wash ones, etc.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Soft Buff 2.0 7" pads will fit your stock Flex Backing plate. Stick with the Polishing pad, and the Finishing pad. Get a Smooth Surface Clay kit, some Quik Detailer for clay lube, Ultimate Compound, Ultimate Polish, and Ultimate Paste Wax, then some ColorX followed by Ultimate Wax for future detail jobs.

To clarify, you don't have to buy Meguiars pads, I just mentioned them because they work very nicely with the products, are machine washable, and fit your Flex.

        Re: Recommend Products

RPPM's recommendations are good ones, including the about not really needing to purchase our pads since it seems you already have several pads on hand. We love that you want to, but we honestly think it just makes more sense to use the perfectly good pads you still have - you can always transition to ours when you need to replace what you have.

Otherwise, Ultimate Compound, Polish & Wax makes for an awesome combination on the vast majority of vehicles. It sounds like you know your way around the machine polishing process, but if you're new to our line we think you'll find these three consumer products capable of stacking up against plenty of "boutique" products. Now, if it turns out that the Benz has crazy hard paint, you may want to consider looking at our DA Microfiber Correction System, let's cross that bridge when, and if, we come to it.
