    Re: waxing windshield and windows

Do your own car and then show the off. People that are going to spend a 100 buck or so for a detail want to see what they are getting. That is what I did. I am retired so 1 or 2 a week is enough for me. If you do a couple of car, word of mouth is as good as it gets.

The only other issue I've seen is that, with some waxes, the wipers will chatter when used in light rain conditions.

This thread has inspired me to try some M16 on the windows -- I certainly have enough of it now that I don't use it on the paint anymore.

I just used my DA with some UC on the windshield, NXT glass cleaner, then RainX. Works great and the water just flies off at highway speed.
On my side & rear windows I slapped some Collinite 845, seem to work great, also have some UQW on the side/rear windows after a wash.

I've used NXT 2.0 on my glass several times now with great results. They also get some UQW after every wash...

              Rain x

The secret is drip a line accross the top (do to one window at a time) then rub it over the window with a polish rag. Afrer u do this to all windows wait a few minutes about 5 or more they will be dry and smokey, or smugy kinda like u half jobed them then go back to the first winDow with a clean polish rag and fold it so u can flip it here and there and wipe them around the edges then the center and do the windows in the same order u applyed it in when done there should be clear glas and if not rub them with a new dry polish rag. Or clean the inside lol. Then ur set .... Spray it with the hose and watch it beed off nothong will stay on sept on sun/moon roofs

Bruce is correct. Word of mouth is the best advertisement. I owned my company for 10 years and I never once advertised, other than logos on the back window of work trucks. All my business came by word of mouth and an occasional handing out business cards when someone sees you working in a parking lot somewhere. As far as windows/windshield I like to use Aquapel. I have been very happy with the results, however it is a bit expensive.

I like to use Rain X 2 in 1 to clean and wax my windows after a wash and it beads water like crazy for 4-5 months. I get mine at Walmart for a decent price.
