Which tool you recommend for M205 DA or rotary. I have been reading about using M205 with rotary and speed below 1000 rpm for finishing the paint with finishing pad. Please advice which one is the best for M205 and what is the recommended speed. Thanks to all.

Re: M205 using DA or Rotary Polisher
Can't help ya out with the rotary speeds (don't use it any longer), but for a DA, I've found starting out at speed 5-6, then as you are nearing the end of the cycle, on the area you are working on, I'll throttle back to 3-4 and finish it off.
By backing off on the speed somewhat, it helps to get that final gloss we are trying achieve.
Make sense?

Re: M205 using DA or Rotary Polisher
It really depends on what you're trying to accomplish, the condition of the paint, how the paint responds, etc. We know of some cars that just love M205 on a W8207 yellow polishing pad at 1300 rpm, very light pressure, and moderately paced passes. Other paint responds better to a W9207 black finishing pad at 1000 rpm or less with very slow movements and light to moderate pressure. But on a DA with a W8207 pad, speed 5 and quite a bit of pressure you'd be amazed at the defects you can actually remove. By the same token, a DA running a W9207 pad at speed 3 and light pressure is a great way to really refine the finish and increase clarity.
Since paint can vary so much you might want to experiment a bit with different techniques depending on the vehicle you're working on. If you're skilled with a rotary and the paint isn't overly delicate, then very often you can achieve stellar results with the finishing pad and very slow speeds. But that's after doing all the heavy lifting, so to speak, with your compound or more aggressive paint cleaner and a more aggressive pad.Michael Stoops

Re: M205 using DA or Rotary Polisher
Thanks to Mike & Bill.
I used M205 with CG black finishing pad at speed 900-1000 rpm and the result was very impressing. I used rotary for hood, doors, and top surfcae. DA used at speed 5 for finders and the result was very good too. The only difference I noticed is that the result can obtained fastre with rotary but the difference was very minor.
