Can't get bonded surface contaminants off

I'm trying to prepare my '05 F350 for a wax job. Color is Oxford White. I've tried clay, I've tried solvents and I've tried UC. The contaminants won't budge. The spots are tiny and I can only see them with my glasses on but there are literally thousands of them. Especially on the lower portion of the doors.

Any recommendations?

Pretty sure. While using UC on a DA, if I scrape with my fingernail I can remove one every once in a while.

I just tried out the CarPro IronX, and worked great on my wheels to get stuff that was hard to see.

They make one with the IronX and TarX combined now, and I would certainly consider it before I was doing a "full detail", or at last once in a while before a full detail.

Hmmmmm wonder if you have road paint on your car?

Road paint may have reflective beads in it. If they break loss while buffing, you can scratch the paint.

It is possible that whatever is bonded to the paint has done so very tenaciously and you need a more aggressive clay to remove it. We often find in these cases that our C2000 Professional blue mild clay really steps up and takes care of more serious contaminants.

The OP has industrial fallout, his description is spot on with it.

You need to pick up a product that removes the iron/contamination, such as IronX.

Clay will take forever and only shave the surface.

Update: FedX delivered combo product IronX and TarX yesterday. I tried it on a small area of a rear door. I don't see the dots melt or anything but they are slightly easier to remove with a fingernail. At the rate this cleaning is going, I'll be done about the time the truck gets antique plates!

The dots are black and yellow (rusty) colored.

^^Hold on! Did u recently got the undercoat spray? May be its undercoat spray....
This happened to my car too, There were 1000s of spray particles on lower side of doors, fenders, and bumpers, which could easily come off with finger nail, but doing so was scratching the finish and it would have taken years to clean the door this way...

I've ordered Meg's professional Mild clay and waiting for it to arrive, hopefully i'll be able to get rid of those spots with it.

Remember when there was all the speculation that Meguiars would come out with a decontamination product akin to IronX/TarX/TRIX? Maybe for '13

Well I moved on to Ultra Cut and my DA. Those along with my fingernails are working albeit extremely slow. In 6 hrs I got 2 doors and down 1 side of the bed. Maybe a 1/3 through the cleaning and nothing done on the wax! It's gonna be a long weekend!

Just in case any of you have any doubts, DO NOT LET YOUR PAINT GO WITHOUT PROPER CARE!!!! That's what happened. 2 years of no wax jobs and nothing more than an occasional washing has left my truck a mess with surface bonded contaminants.
