  • Help!!!

    Hi

The polish/wax will not dry on my car.

    I Scratch X her on Monday/Tuesday.
Left overnight and put DC2 next day.

Left over again and the next morning i appled NXT (That did not dry

So i then Scratch X the whole car again.
Then left overnight and appyed NXT again next morning.

    Again did not dry.

So 2day i put the car out in the sun thinking the sun will dry it and its will wet

I want to apply #16 wax but everytime i touch the car it smears!!

    What can i do??

    Thanks

I've had similar problems with NXT drying after polishing with a pure polish.

First off lets look at how the ScratchX and polish were applied.

Then how long was the NXT allowed to dry?

What was the ambient temp and humidity? Colder and damper conditions require longer dry times. The swipe test is a good indicator to use for verifying the product has dried.

Polishes should be removed wet and not let to dry. I'm sure you did that.

I'm not sure about the sun helping in drying the polishing oils. I really think this is where our problem is the oily polish inhibits the LSP from drying.

As a test if you have a dedicated paint cleaner then pick a panel and apply the cleaner to remove the polish oils and NXT. Then only apply the NXT to test if it will dry without the polish oils on the surface. If the NXT still doesn't dry then it's something else.

    Good luck.

Normally after a hour its dry and ready to buff off.

          This time smears appared.

Once i have DC1 the car how long do i have to wait until i can apply NXT??

          Thanks

shouldn't be any wait in between cleaner and NXT. Like I said try a test panel first incase this isn't the answer and it will save you time.

                  did the DC1 help?

Washing might aid in removal of the residual product.

                  Good luck.

DC1 made the panel smear even more m8.

So if i washed the car and did not add NXT would she be still protected???

                    Thanks

not the portion DC1 was applied too. This is a weird situation.

I wash them in the washing machine with the application pads m8 and put in the drier to dry.

I also use to wash the car:

                          GC shampoo (2 bucket system)
                          Lambwool Mitt
                          Shammy leather (Soft one)

I have got coming a Hydra Flexi Blade which i may use insead of the shammy.

I have applied NXT to the panel that i put DC1 on.
                          Should that be protected now???

                          Thanks

                            yep.

Maybe try to wash the apps and towels separate. Do you use a fabric softener?

How'd the DC1 NXT test panel turn out?

                              Hey,

I think Scrub is going in the right direction. I have seen smearing from towels that were either washed in fabric softener or dried with dryer sheets. I have had problems with both of these while others only have trouble with the fabric softeners in the wash.

My advice would be to re-wash the towels in the washing machine using some liquid Tide and a few squirts of Dawn soap. Use hot water and give the towles an extra rinse.

Give that a try! I have a feeling that will solve the smearing issue.
