  • Meguiars Endurance Tire Shine Aerosol Discontinued? (Houston, Texas)

    Hello y'all,

I was very happy that Meguiars updated the Endurance Tire Spray Aerosol trigger head back in mid 2011 and has been using it ever since- great product with the new trigger head to prevent over-spray. Anyways, I have been trying to buy more the past couple weeks around town (Houston, Texas) but no store seems to carry the Aerosol version anymore. I have checked 3 Walmarts, 3 Autozones, 1 O'Reily, and 2 Advanced Autos.

It would be very unfortunate if there is no more Aerosol version.

    Could someone confirm?

    Thank You.

We still make it, but whether or not a given store decides to carry it is up to them. It can be a tough decision for some stores, or an easy one, depending on how well a product is selling. And when you consider that a store has to find shelf space for 3 versions of this one tire dressing, plus maybe our Hot Rims Tire Shine and all the competitors on the market, and something's gotta give. Obviously the first to go will be the slowest sellers, and even that can vary from one geographic area to another (ie, a product that sells very well in Florida may be a poor seller in Seattle, for whatever reason).

Online retailers don't have to worry about fancy shelf space, eye catching presentation, etc. They just have a warehouse full of racks reaching maybe 30 feet high, with product sitting in cases that are still on shipping pallets, so they can carry a full range of products. It's almost unheard of to find a brick and mortar store that carries our entire Consumer Line, or our entire Mirror Glaze Line, let alone both in one place. But a handful of online retailers do exactly that.

Wow, that's sad. I own a 4Runner 4WD and its tires are huge. It would be a nightmare to rub it on manually without the Aerosol version. I suppose I will go back to ArmorAll Supreme Tire Shine for now.

I would imagine the Aerosol version sells better than the other versions since I often time see the other versions collect dusts.

So apparently, its not selling at all in Houston.

Regarding Online Retailers, you must pay a hefty shipping and handling to buy the product which is very impractical.

I wish I should have bought more before it was phased out.

I just checked Amazon, they are selling one for the price of two. Thanks but no thanks.

EDIT: Nevermind, I see why now:

Walmart offers a site to store option that may work for you. Ditto for Oreilly's; also they should be able to just order it for you. This would require a little more planning or two trips to get the product, but it's worth it.

I like to use tire gel instead of spray or foam and if the store I am at does not have Meguiars tire gel; Endurance or Hot Shine then I will just buy a tire gel that they have available....most tire products are basically the same since it is just dressing some rubber

                  A little update for everyone:

I just received a phone call from our marketing person who handles this product and was informed that the theft rate for this product is fairly high in some markets, so many stores are not putting it out on the shelf and you have to ask a store employee if they have it. In many cases they have it, it's just being kept behind the counter to prevent shoplifting. So if you don't see it - ask.

I don't know if you are allowed to speculate, but I just find this very interesting. Why do you suppose people go straight for the endurance aerosol? I guess the can might be easier to steal, but who knows. I would think they would have the Ultimate Wax behind the counter, or a more high dollar product. Maybe people just don't like paying to gloss up their tires?

I would speculate it is because of inhalants abuse. Hope I am wrong though.
