  • G37s detailed

I will be putting pics up of the g37 soon. It's 2am my time and I am beat but I detailed the heck out of my Infiniti today. Wow it looks great!!!! I still have a couple of fine scratches I couldn't get off. I guess my paint was harder than I thought. Well it's a black 2011 g37s sedan. Yup I said black!!! It was a pain. I was masking since 11am this morning and jumped right in so obviously I washed with UWW soap and then clayed the car with Meg's mild clay bar (the blue stuff). After that applied a combo of UC and scratchx 2.0. I used 2.0 for areas that needed the attention with the G110v2 and red pad. The yellow wasn't cutting as well as I wanted so I kicked it up a little. The UC was applied with the yellow pad throughout. I found that using the yellow on level setting 4 was not enough so I ran it on 5 to get results I wanted. I am definitely sure that this paint is hard now!!! I used great technique as viewed in Meg's tutorials (slow and fast for + cutting action). This process took the longest. Than came polish. Oh man I love this polish!!! I used #7. I don't know how this isn't the best selling polish Meg's has?? I tried UP before but this is way better in my opinion. It was deep and rich after application for the black color I have. Finally wax, the wax I went with was UW liquid. I really wanted the yellow tech wax because of what I read about but haven't bought it yet, maybe tomorrow . But I have GCC paste and UW so I went with UW. I massaged it in with the black pad on level 3 moving pretty quick. I applied a really thin coat and waited about 3 hours and applied another coat again. Marvelous looking wet appearance indeed!!! I am stoked on how this came out. Literally took me the whole day and then some. Well I did take ps3 breaks and all but very happy non the less!!! Btw is the tech wax worth the buy for a black vehicle or is there something else I should use next time??

Looking forward to seeing the pics. Yea show car glaze M07 is probably my favorite product because it has some magic in the bottle. The wax I use is the hi tech yellow wax M26 and I do not see myself using anything else. But I have not used another wax so I am not sure how it compares to ULW or NXT 2.0.

NXT Looks better on lighter vehicles and UW and GCC looks great on darker vehicles.

If the Ult Wax works for you, I wouldnt worry about the Nxt 2.0.

What about tech wax??? What is so special about it?? What of that works greater than UW?

                  Re: G37s detailed

Well, the full name would be Nxt Tech Wax 2.0, if that is what you meant? Really dont want the 1.0.

The Ult. Wax is basically the new/improved version of the NXt 2.0, so longer lasting, better protecting, etc. Some say the NXt 2.0 is a bit glossier.

Nothing will really be 'better' than UW in that regard. If you happened to like the look of another product better, like #26 or GC+, that is just up to you.

No not really I meant yellow tech wax, beige bottle if that helps. Number 20 something I believe. Is that better for darker vehicles???

                      Oh, M26 Hi-Tec Yellow Wax.

I always go with most durable for my car, but a lot of people who like looks go give it a try.

Car looks great!! Glad I could have been of help.

For wax it really depends on personal preference as far as looks and durability is concerend. I use GCCP/GCQD for my sedan and UW/UQD for my wifes car. The Carnauba has such a warm even glow to it and for me looks much better than UW. I dont care about durability for my sedan as I dont drive it very much. I like UW on the wagon as it offers to most protection even though it is hardly driven either. Since it is the family wagon I want as much protection as possible.

When the two are sitting next to each other in the garage you can tell the difference of which car is wearing what wax. My sedan has an even, smooth glow to it while the wagon has a crisp plasticky look.

Hope this helps you decide on a wax...

M26 is a carnauba wax. I've never used it but supposedly it looks the best on dark vehicles. However carnauba wax does not provide the most protection.
