Porter cable 7442XP polisher.

Hi,
I just bought this Porter Cable tool and would like to know which speeds are suitable for applying the wax and for the final polishing.Can I wax the car all over and polish it after or is it preferable to work with small sections.

Please check out above threads. I believed it is better to apply polish before wax. I personally work on one panel at a time but this is just me. I think this is more personal preference. But certain product, i.e. Ultimate Liquid Wax, is better to work on it one panel at a time for easy removal.

Do you mean the PC 7424xp?

When you say "final polishing" - do you mean remove the wax?

In general, I use setting 3 to apply wax.

Yes bmrfan PC 7424XP. When I say final polishing I mean to polish the wax with the Pc instead of using microfiber cloths.

I usually remove wax by hand using microfiber towels.

I've tried removing wax using a DA (on setting 3) with a microfiber bonnet but I find it just as easy to remove wax by hand.

I am sorry that I mistaken your meaning of polish.

For me, speed 4 for cleaner wax. Pure wax, I use speed 2, less pressure and slower arm speed to apply wax. I also use hand to remove wax. If I use DA to remove wax, I would use speed 3, less pressure and faster arm speed. My $0.02.
