Ok I did something pretty boneheaded the other day. I was washing my truck outside, half (the drivers side) was in the sun, the other half in the shade. I was using Meguiars Gold Class Car wash, and rinsing each panel frequently. I feel like I had the whole drivers side soap free, but possibly not? Any way, I wasn't really thinking about it, and I allowed it to dry in the sun.
By the time I got over there and looked, it was dried. And these waterspots don't look like they want to come off. I was actually really surprised by what a mess it made. They seemed almost sticky to the touch, the surface feels kinda crappy. I really didn't know what to do so I tried rewashing that side, which didn't work. I dried the side and thought I might try using some quick detailer to see if they'd come off like normal waterspots..they didn't. In fact right when I started trying to quick detail it I could feel under the microfiber that it was having no effect. No longer a smooth feeling surface..not sure what to do.
I was getting frustrated and a little worried at this point so the next day I actually tried to clay that side. I tried on a small spot first which seemed to be making a small difference, but altogether it made little difference. I feel like this is something I've done before, allowed it to try in the sun and there were no nasty results left over. Not really sure what went so wrong. What should I do? There's a coat of Megs Ultimate Wax on there from maybe a month and a half ago. I was thinking starting from square one? Maybe Meguiars Ultimate Compound?
Any help would be great, thank you.
