Has anyone ever used anything on the hood insulation pad? Didn't know if Hyper Dressing would harm it.

It depends on what it's made of. Some hood liners/insulation pads are porous or cloth like like in our cars, there's an insulating pad made from fiberglass type material or resin impregnated cloth like material, so i didn't even try to apply any form of dressing to it.
Maybe what i would do is to vacuum or use compressed air to remove the dust, then use a few microfiber cloths (some damp to clean, some dry for final wipe) to restore that original black look to it. -

Experiment on a small corner to see if the mat aborbs the water or drips? Water+ dirt+porous mat = muddy rug?Success is never final, failure is never fatal. It's courage that counts.

Use a foaming tire dressing. Spray and spread(gently)with a medium bristle wheel brush. Honest, it works!!!Comment

I removed mine and just painted the underside, now I can wax it. I've also seen the liners painted then cleared, making them easy to keep clean
