So with that mix of products and pads, what have you tried so far?

It looks like pretty typical rotary buffer marks, and if that paint is really soft it can be tricky to finish completely swirl free with a rotary. Looking at the material you have on hand, give this a shot:

M80 with the W9000 pad, keep the speed of the buffer below 1100 rpm, keep the pad as flat as possible against the paint, and move the buffer pretty slowly from side to side. Just use the weight of the buffer, nothing more.

These marks tend to come from spinning the pad too quickly, holding the pad at too much of an angle to the paint, moving the pad too quickly over the paint, using too aggressive a pad, or some combination of these.

that paint job is really bad, as you can notice i have some white spots on the clear coat, but it has some good materials, i first tried this.

wet sanding with 1200-1500-2000-2500 then i used some 3m rubing compound i have, later i used m83 with red pad, m80 with polish pad and i got some good results, but when the oils dries i see those scratches again, im gonna try what you sugested, and another question, what product is similar to ultimate compound, cause i can't find it here in Mexico.

      Thanks

        Re: Need some help here

        Hi Michael Stoops,

I've tried what said, i did it in low rpm's like 900 and with soft motion and no pressure at all, and i took some scratches but not all, i used the 9000 pad and the m80.

I have no dreep Swirl marks but i have still some, i did a second pass and still see those scratches, do i switch to the 8000 pad? or i use on 9000 the m83?
or maybe ultra polish can do the work?

        Thanks for the help

          Re: Need some help here

Were you able to tell if it seemed like the swirls were not being removed, or if it was more like you were removing them, but leaving swirls/haziness behind?

              Re: Need some help here

If the finishing pad isn't removing them then they could be pretty deep. Step up to the W8000 pad with M80, start at 1200 rpm for a pass or two with light pressure then slow down to 1000 rpm or less for another couple of passes with just the weight of the tool.

                Re: Need some help here

So far this is what happened so far.

i did what you said i removed most of defects from the car, when you see it a little far like 1m. you dont notice any damage, but when you do a close up you will find it still have some random swirl marks like in the picture, i guess thats because of the Rotary buffer im using, if i switch to a DA can i get rid of them? this are the pictures.

btw i switched to the hood, because it had the same deffects and also is easier to work because it is closer to me :p.

on the second picture you can see it, thank you
