My neighbor has a highlander and has an advertising magnet on his driver door. He had it on for some time. When he took it off, there is a clear cloudy film within the paint. I tried using clay and scratch x to get it out. I thought I got it out but the next day it returned. Anybody have a recommendation? I used the DA polisher as well as trying by hand to get it out.

Re: door magnet and haze
Put some UC on a polishing pad and work it in very well as see where that gets you. You might need a second pass as well.Practice doesn't make perfect, the dedication to achieve perfection makes perfect. "Smack"

Re: door magnet and haze
How long has it been off?
I have seen a couple times where there was a covering, etc of some sort, and it seemed like the paint just needed to sit and 'dry out' for lack of a better word.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

Re: door magnet and haze
If the back of the magnet isn't clean or the door isn't clean before the magnet is put on you can also get scratches. Especially if the person adjusts the magnet to get it straight. They pull up a corner and drag it into position...ouch!
As Smack indicated, use some UC. Good luck.

Either way, UC would be a good start. You won't really know how your particular paint will resopond until you try..Originally posted by BluelineI own a silver vehicle and a black vehicle owns me. The black one demands attention, washing, detailing, waxing and an occasional dinner out at a nice restaurant. The silver one demands nothing and it looks just fine. I think the black vehicle is taking advantage of me, and the silver car is more my style. We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

Re: door magnet and haze
Well, I just tried using UC with a power drill and the Maguire's pads and all of that. Still have that haze. I have moved the magnets from the rest of the jeep, and only this door was affected. I am starting to wonder about the paint job itself. Since the Jeep is less than 4 months old, when I take it in for the oil change, I am gonna have them check it out. But tired using UC and had no luck....

Re: door magnet and haze
I had the same problem. I washed the car first and washed the back of the magnet and had it on my Honda for about 2 weeks. I think it was the rain that got behind the magnet and stained the paint as it was wet behind the magnet all the time. Finally removed the stain with UC
