  • Need help with plastic trim around bottom of car

This is what it looks like^

I have no idea how to get rid of it. I rubbed a clay bar on it and it took up the dark black marks, but there is a LOT of grey stuff that I can't get rid of. It feels smooth to the touch but it looks terrible. Please help

Looks pretty bad . If its already smooth to the touch and the spots remain you could try to sand them down and polish with Ultimate compound; but since many of these pieces have a thin layer of paint you will burn trough easily. If is a removable trim piece ( which I believe it is ) you should look forward to refinish it.
The way to be satisfied in this case.

Wow, we would never guess that what we're looking at would feel smooth to the touch - it even looks rough! Before going full bore with sand paper, let's step back a bit and try a much less invasive approach. Since clay will only remove surface contaminants and you've already used clay, and you say this feels smooth, we'd suggest starting with a paint cleaner like ScratchX 2.0 or even Ultimate Compound. Make sure to remove any light dust or other loose contaminants by either washing or using a quick detailer on the area first, then apply some paint cleaner to a foam wax applicator pad and work it against the effected area in a small spot - no more than one square foot - using a bit of elbow grease. Wipe the product off before it dries, but understand that you may need multiple applications to remove everything.

Give that a shot first and let us know how it goes.
