  • Scratch X & DC2 problems

    Hi.

I have Scratch X the car.

I let it dry for about half and hour then applyed DC2.

I buffed it up and smears appeared.

    What happened guys???

    Thanks

    Hi Dave,

Here is the best way to apply these two products,

Apply the ScratchX to a section at a time, then after working it in, remove it. It will remove easier if you don't let it dry.

After applying and removing the ScratchX, then follow it up with an application of the Deep Crystal Polish. Appy in the same way, apply to a section at a time, work the product in and then remove it. Neither of these two products need to dry before removing them and in most cases they will remove easier if you don't let them dry.

Then apply your choice of wax. Allow the wax to fully dry before removing, be sure to apply a thin coat, worked in well.

Make sure that your towels/applicators are clean as well. No fabric softner, dryer sheets etc. That will cause smearing as well.

DO NOT LET THE DC2 DRY OVERNIGHT! You will have a tough time removing it. Please re-read Mikes post...he KNOWS what he is talking about.

            I am not leaving DC2 on m8.

I have buffed it off and letting it set.

            Will apply NXT 2morrow morning.

            Thanks

If you still have time today, you could put on one coat of NXT. No need to let the DC2 "set". Then put on another layer of NXT tomorrow. Two thin coats of NXT are better than one but you need to let the first coat set and bond. Most folks recomend 24 hrs but that just depends on your conditions.
