Quick question... I own a 2009 128i BMW and would like to know the correct process to detail it by hand. I would be using Megs products by the way.

    I was thinking of doing...
    1) Gold Shampoo Wash
    2) Clay Bar Starter Kit
    3) Swirl X
    4) Wax

Is this the correct order? The swirls are not terrible but noticeable under light. I don't think I would need to use "Ultimate Compound" in addition to Swirl X? My car does not have any scratches, but needs a serious clay bar job and to get rid of those swirls.

    Thanks!

Removing swirls by hand with SwirlX may be hard.

But if this is your first time detailing, probably is the best way to go, to get everything shined up and used to the products. And then can look at Ult. Compound next time.

And 2 thin coats of wax is best.

A dual action polisher would be the best way to remove swirls. But your process is correct if you cannot remove the swirls by hand you can cover them with #6 cleaner wax until you are familier with the polisher.
Even the best cars look like junk when they are not clean

Since I am doing it by hand, would adding the Ult Cmp before SwirlX make getting the swirls off easier?

        1) Wash
        2) Clay
        3) Ultimate Compound
        4) Swirl X
        5) Wax
