• Meguiar's products pay for themselves!

I traded in my 2008 Jeep Wrangler. I don't have a garage so my Jeep sat outside since I bought it new. But the dealership where I traded it in didn't know that, and I got almost $1,000 over Kelly Blue Book value in excellent condition (granted, Jeeps hold their value better than just about anything, but still). To be honest, the paint looked quite a bit better than the new Jeeps at some of the dealerships I looked at. And that's all because I used ColorX and NXT 2.0 every 2 to 3 months on average. I used several different Meg's car washes (Wash n Wax was my latest) but I never changed my Color X/NXT 2.0 combo. For the hard top I used Ultimate Quick Wax and for the exterior plastics and rubber I used Ultimate Protectant. And for the interior I used Quick Interior Detailer Wipes (I also detailed the engine with these regularly). My Jeep has been driven in the snow, it's been so muddy that you couldn't tell what color it was, and it has sat outside in the elements, yet you'd never know it. I traded it in for a Nissan Xterra which is black, so that should be a challenge. ColorX and NXT 2.0 has worked so good that I am afraid to change it, even though I'd like to try the new Ultimate Wax. Anyway, the folks at the dealership were convinced it was garage kept and babied, but it really wasn't, except for regular washing and waxing.

Great story, thanks for sharing. It is pretty amazing what just a bit of very regular, routine maintenance can do for a vehicle's finish, and you've just reinforced that.

On the Xterra we'd suggest just keeping with the same program you used on the Jeep, at least for the first several months. The paint is likely to be quite different on the Nissan so you may find it to be more sensitive, or less, to scratching. That may cause you to adjust your process or technique a bit. Time will tell.

Thanks, Michael. I just did my first detail on the Xterra with ColorX and NXT 2.0. It is now a deep shiny black. The dealership supposedly put some kind of sealant on it, but after washing it, it didn't have that Meguiar's shine to it. I'm very happy with the results as usual.

The Xterra looks better, in the pictures at least. Good maintenance does go a long way in keeping cars shiny for a long time. You can try the ultimate wax, but honestly if you're happy with the results and overall experience with NXT 2.0, you can stick with it. and just keep up your maintenance steps.

While you're at it, why not use Ultimate Quik Detailer on your Xterra? I've had great success with it. Seems to add depth to paint, a lot more than i expected from "a mere instant detailer"

Maybe in time, you can add a polish/pure polish to your current arsenal, or after you run out of colorX. Seeing your car's pictures, I can't help but imagine what it would look like if M07 or deep crystal polish is applied before the NXT 2.0, I also have a dark/black vehicle, and i've had great results using m07-nxt2 combination.
