  • Necessary to clay?

    Hello:

I plan on polishing my car with UC, #205 and then wax with a DA. Is it necessary to clay the car before I start this?

    thanks!

Yeah, the pad/products wont actually remove bonded on stuff, just kind of bounce over it. Or you could have a bonded on particle break off and be stuck on your pad to drag around, which also isnt good.

I am not an avid detailer like most on this site, and tend to omit some steps and or recommendations that I think are frivolous, but one step I will not omit, is claying. You can polish 'till the cows come home, but if you have not clayed recently, your results will not be opium. It is the easiest and fastest step, with the most gained from the least effort.
