  • The BEST Combo...

    Hello All,

My apologies if this question has already been asked here on this forum, but i was just curious to know/confirm before i do this experiment myself.

What is the Best Combo from the following for eye popping Reflectivity, Depth and Wet Shine:

    • GC + ULW
    • ULW + GC

    OR
    • GC + NXT
    • NXT + GC

    Regards,
    Imran

The biggest factor in that eye-popping, incredible shine is the prep work. I would clay the car first, then clean, now depending on the condition of the paint i would choose either ultimate compound or swirlX to create that smooth or close to swirl free finish. Then a pure polish like Deep crystal polish or #7 showcar glaze, then apply sealant like NXT 2 or Ultimate wax before applying Gold Class. Before you top off your entire car with gold class, maybe you should try a small spot or even better 50/50 with sealant(NXT or Ultimate wax) and the other topped with gold class. Depending on the paint, you might end up liking the results of the non-gold class side. Just give it a shot, and decide for yourself which you like.

Users find the Ultimate wax better for dark paint, while nxt 2.0 seems more suitable for brightrt paint, again depending on the paint, results may very. Gold Class may give the deepest carnauba shine, but won't be as durable as the ultimate wax or NXT 2.0

I completely agree that it all depends on surface prep, coz wax indeed brings out what is beneath it...

BTW, its dark grey coloured (Graphite grey, metallic paint) car, its swirl free and paint cleaned with Zymol cleaner wax, later polished with UP.

I only wanted to inquire about the final step to know about best Combination of synthetic & carnauba.

Thank you, i'll try what u suggested.

        Re: The BEST Combo...

I am more interested to know about the best combination. There are 3 Products ( NXT, ULW and Gold Class) and there are 4 possible combinations as described in my 1st post above. I want to know which of those combinations works best?

          Re: The BEST Combo...

I'd go for the ultimate wax, I'm betting that it looks darker in real life than the avatar suggests... Its usually sealant underneath carnauba... sealant will give the bright reflection, and will give protection. The carnauba will add the depth and glow to the paint, and will "protect" the sealant layer underneath. With ultimate wax, you may want to go the paste route, it applies more traditionally than the liquid. You may want to read up on some articles on how to apply ultimate liquid wax.

Its usually sealant underneath a carnauba wax. So UW/NXT under Gold Class Carnauba plus

Maintain it with Ultimate Quik Detailer and Ultimate Quik wax in between waxing and washing

I would put M26 on top of ULW. I believe that every consumer based wax has cleaners in it to clean previous layers of wax off. Also, layering wax may not produce very noticeable results as very little wax will bond to an even application of wax prior. Wax sticks to paint/cleat coat, but not very well to wax.
