  • Qd right after wax

I usually top my #20 with #26 paste and thats about it. yesterday. right after buffing off #26 I sprayed last touch spray detailer and wiped with an mf. Now my question is: will that result to increased protection? gloss? shine? or is it just a waste of time/effort/product, thanks

The Quick Detailer products, or Nxt Detailer, will not add any protection. They could change your gloss/shine a little, but it would have to be noticeble to your own eye to be worthwhile.

Some people will use QD if they are having trouble removing a bit of wax from the car that didnt dry quite right, maybe from humidity, etc. For me, that would be about the only reason to use it right away.

The spray wax products are something that you could use in between regular waxings, and they will restore the gloss and shine, and add some protection until your next regular waxing. They would still not be used right after waxing, more like after a week or two.

Yep, most good QD's will add/restore a bit of gloss/shine and remove some light contaminates. A "Spray Wax" or "booster" will add a little protection.

To be honest, I don't apply "anything" right after a coat of wax or sealant. I like to give them a little time to setup/dry/cure or whatever it's called nowadays!

I feel that applying a QD right after a coat of wax/sealant just "re-liquefies" the product. I'm not sure that it's a big deal, causes any harm, or adds much value.......... but it makes me feel better!

The label on the NXT Speed Detailer implies that it adds protection. On the front label it says "Enhance Shine and Protection." it may not add as much protection as the Spray Booster Wax, the NXT Paste or Liquid, but if it adds any protection that is a plus.

However, I would not apply any QD withing 24 hours of a new wax job. The wax needs time to set up, or cure. Applying QD too soon may reduce durability.
