New G110V2 Broken out of the box, what gives???

    New G110V2 Broken out of the box, what gives???

    I was looking forward all week to receive my new DA polisher. Finally it came today however it was defective I ordered it through Auto Detail Solutions and they said I have to contact Meguairs directly. I contacted Meguiars and they said to mail it back and they will look at it. I am glad that Megs was willing to take it back but I was a bit aggravated when they said I had to pay for the shipping and the turn around time could be a couple weeks. The customer service guy said they might throw in a couple pads for the inconvenience. I guess I will have to post pone my project, hopefully the weather holds up.

    I plugged in the polisher and turned it on. It started surging and was having problems rotating, this was on speed one. Finally after a few seconds it surged and started rotating. I put pressure on it and it stopped. I tried the same sequence with different speeds and I kept getting the surging. There was also one instance where it was stuck on one speed, I couldn't raise or lower the speed while it was rotating. Although this is my first DA polisher, I knew DA polishers wasn't supposed to act like this. Has anybody experienced this before with this product? I guess I'll give it one more try with a new one and if it doesn't work then I will ask for my money back and purchase the Griots Garage DA.

      From what I've seen, Meguiars customer service is second-to-none.

      Although your situation is disappointing, I'm sure they will look after you..

        I've order from ADS in the past and my only gripe is they don't stand behind the products they sell, and want you to go direct to the manufacturer if there is a problem with the product, rather than send it back and replace it. On the other hand.. I will say Megs customer service is great, and there are a bunch of good people that work there.

            We are really sorry to hear about this issue and we certainly understand your frustration. Rest assure, however, that our guys will get this taken care of for you ASAP and get that new buffer in your hands as quickly as possible.

                OK guys, let's go easy here and not let this turn into a bash session - that is something we flat out will not allow here on MOL. ADS has been a fantastic source of our products, and other products as well, over the years and Rick has always offered up great pricing, lightning fast delivery and he's been known to go above and beyond for his customers even when they haven't asked for anything.

                Meguiar's will always stand behind our products 100%, and anyone who's dealt with our Customer Care Center knows that our guys are second to none. So please, let's keep this a discussion about getting FX4619 taken care of, which is what's happening.

                  Not bashing ADS, but FYI, there are other sources available. Amazon sells it for the same price as ADS, and so does several online retailers.

                  I have never had to deal with Meguiar's Customer Service, but I hear it is top notch, and I am sure you'll be taken care of. Sorry to hear your experience, and that you had to postpone your work because of this.

                    Hey guys I didn't post this thread to bash on any company. I was simply stating my experience. I have no doubt ADS or Meg's will stand by their products. I have already received phone calls and emails concerning this issue. I have been assured that this will be resolved as any situation should be. Megs has been in business a very long time so I'm sure they've been doing something right.

                      Just received my new Megs DA and all I can say is WOW!! It runs totally different from the original one I purchased. Thank you Megs for making this right. Thanks for the extra pads too
