  • cheap cordless leaf blower to dry the car?

    Hi Guys,

As I mentioned in another thread, I wash my car about once a week because of the constructions going at my work place (which deposits a lot of dirt). While the cheap synthetic absorber knockoff I got from Meritline works fine, it is very time consuming. I read on another thread that lots of folks are suggesting blow drying the car as a faster alternative.

My problem is, the apartment complex I am in does not have an electric counter anywhere close to where a car can be parked. The nearest one will need me to stretch about 30+ ft of cord. I am looking to buy a cheap CORDLESS leaf blower - something around the $30 mark. Does anyone here have suggestions?

I used to use a Black and Decker 12V Cordless Broom Hard Surface Sweeper (MODEL # CS100). Retails for about $100 new, but give eBay and CraigsList a look. You can probably find a used one in your price range. I sold mine last September for $30 on Craigslist after purchasing it for $25 a year earlier. I gave it up after I switched to flood rinsing after traditional bucket washes (most of the residual water gets sheeted off and doesn't leave enough for the leaf blower). It also isn't necessary if I wash the car with ONR.

I use Makita with LXT battery (especially when doing mobile detailing). I'm very happy with its battery life.
Amazon would be a good place to look for it (it comes as a bare tool, battery and charger have to be purchased seperately).
