Hi everyone,
I am from Australia. I just bought myself a time warp machine, a 1985 Nissan Bluebird 910. Its in as new condition throughout. The only thing bothering me are some surface rust inside the engine bay and trunk. I have posted pictures of what I am talking about. I am new to any sort of panel work/spray painting work, so I would like some quick advice as to how I should tackle these repairs. I cant afford to send the car to a shop, but I dont mind doing some DIY repairs as the surface rust isnt on the exterior of the car. Please keep in mind the paint is all original, so there wont be any surprises such as finding holes filled with bog, etc.
Theres also a very thin scratch on one of the panels on the car, how should I go about making it less noticeable? It hasnt gone through the paint though.
The car has been sitting under a car cover for awhile. Water has etched itself into the clear coat producing a milky layer and theres a few areas where the cover has rubbed through. Is there any way to polish out these stains? Ive been told that it will require a new respray, but I dont think so as its really that bad. Also, what is the best way to touch up the areas where the car cover has rubbed through, without looking tacky?
P.S. Whats the best way to repair the cigarette burn?
Cheers, Tommy
