  • frustrating winter

Hey guys just wanted to rant a bit. I live in Ireland and with our very poor winters (and summers) it gets really frustrating to keep my car looking its best. I've said it before, I'm very anal about it but I feel like I'm fighting a loosing battle. I could spend a whole weekend detailing my car, have it perfect, I drive about a bit and I get a lair of tar and **** embedded on it. It may be two weeks to a month before I get enough dry weather to do it again, and I don't like to quick detail it between washes because the amount of **** it picks up you wouldn't believe. Anyone else in a similar situation that has some advise

    Re: frustrating winter

While I'm not in the same situation b/c it does not rain too much in my area, I do get frustrated when it rains. I have a weather app on my phone so I will not wash my car if it is about to rain and when it does rain and my car gets dirty, there is nothing I can do about it and I am not going to go in circles being frustrated over and over. In a way it can be exciting b/c then I know my car will be have its shine back soon when I clean it and it reminds me there is more to life than worrying about me having a dirty car for a week or two.

we've all been in that situation. Even here it rains, which is unusual because usually it rains at around late may to around nov., in fact yesterday late afternoon i washed my car and less than an hour it rains... good thing it was parked already so no real danger in wiping the car dry since dirt wasn't picked up as it would have if it was on the road.

We all have to live with what nature brings even if it means having a car dirtied up after a good thorough detail job. I would just get on with it and maybe rewash or rewax the car with a spray wax type of product. Anyway with a good detail job, when done right will still look good even after rains or gets messed up. ANd will be esy to clean anyway. But yeah, it is frustrating no doubt about it. It's basically a losing battle when it comes to dealing with mother nature. Even with the best and most durable waxes/sealants, what nature can bring will errode that protective coating...
