  • Opti-Seal... Safe on Stainless Steel & Plastic?

Hey guys, I got 3 questions here, with more questions within the questions.

    1) Can you use Opti-Seal on Stainless steel? Would the shine of the stainless dull over time with the Opti-Seal covering it, or will it stay in its condition at the time I coat it? The reason I ask is because I recently bought a West Bull Bar, and all of the welds have begun rusting within a month of owning it. I have been attempting to get a hold of the company because I think there is no reason for this thing to be rusting so quickly. I do, however, love the Bull Bar by them in all other aspects. A quick polish with Mothers Mag & Aluminum takes the rust right off because it is so light at this point.

    2) After a recent search of Opti-Seal, I see they say you can use it on plastics/trims... So, since I have an Avalanche with all the vinyl or whatever cladding around it, could Opti-Seal be applied onto the cladding? If so, would my cladding still begin to fade in the sun over a month or two? Or would Opti-Seal protect the finish left behind by either Meguiars Ultimate Protectant or Adams Super VRT trim protectant? Right now I apply one of those products every month or so to keep the cladding looking its best, otherwise it begins turning light grey, and on the top bed panels, nearly white!

    3) Opti-Seal does wear off completely at some point doesn't it? How long would it be before I would be expecting it to be wearing off completely?

Thanks guys, I hope this all make sense.

Try asking this question on a detailing discussion forum that's open to more product lines and with more people who have used them (not trying to bash you). Autopia.org is a great example.
