  • ultimate paste wax

I was wondering if any one has tried it and how easy was it to apply and remove? I have the liquid it is easy to apply but, a pain to remove.

Ultimate Paste wax is super easy on and off. I've applied it both thin and thick to test it out, and either way it wipes off very easily.

How is durability and longevity? Compared to something like Collonite.

Unfortunately I have never used Collonite. I can't really comment durability either because I wax basically every month with spray wax in between. But from what I have read on here, Ultimate Wax is the longest lasting of Meguiars if that helps any. On the family beater car, which lives outside and doesn't get washed often or spray waxxed, UW was still beading water slightly after 2 and a half to 3 months at least. The hood began sheeting tho when I finally washed it last week.

I will have to try the paste then, i have heard other people complain about the streaking of the liquid version.

Paste is easier to work with than liquid.

Even still, IMO I didn't find the liquid that difficult anyways.

Easier to see streaks on black though.

In this forum, Not just on black, but other dark shades of color. Some prefer the paste to liquid since the paste doesn't seem to have the same streaking issues and as far as i understand its application is more traditional wipe-on, let haze then remove. unlike the liquid's newer or "more unique" wipe-on, wipe-off formula.

Okay will have to get it and try because i like to do the whole car then wipe off. I tried this with the liquid it looked good but, lots of work to remove the residue.

The paste seems to get more positive reviews than the liquid ultimate wax

                          Re: ultimate paste wax

I have a black car, and have used both the liquid and the paste. I love Ultimate Wax Paste, it is my go to last step. As mentioned earlier, I have tried putting it on thin and thick, very easy removal either way, but why waste the product. I had zero streaking with the paste. I had minor streaking with the liquid, but really only visible when in bright sun on a hot summer day. You will love the paste!

Any issues of streaking or removal difficulty with the liquid version of Ultimate Wax are totally absent with the paste version and it's an absolute breeze to use.
