Corvette with 13k miles

Just bought a 03 corvette. Millennium yellow. Looks to be very clean. What detailing steps should I use on paint that has very few blemishes?

Wash 2 bucket system with grit guard
Evaluate paint
Clay if needed
Polish areas with swirls and light scratches
Good coat of wax or sealant (lights and windows too)
Apply trim coating
Apply sealant or coating to rims
Apply interior dressing
Maintain finish with detail spray and spray wax bt washing and full wax

No pics yet. Thx. By looking under the garage lights I see minimal swirl marks, but some. How would you future out the exact products to use?

Search function is your best friend on this site. You can try Swirl X, Ultimate Polish or Ultimate compound for the swirls.

Will you be working by hand or machine dual action buffer?

Not sure. I have a nice orbital buffer. Porter cable. Im looking for the least aggressive procedure first. What is the least aggressive route. Maybe I should just wax first to see if the minor imperfections go away.

That is certainly a beautiful car. I bet that yellow pops nicely.

You could wash, clay, and just put on some wax. If you really want to remove defects in more than a small area, a DA polisher would really be great if you watched some online how to videos. I can only imagine how beautiful that yellow would look defect free.

HOwever, you can always do that later. It doesn't hurt to just enjoy washing, claying, waxing for now.

I would spend the most time washing ,claying & getting the vehicle de contaminated. This includes cleaning the wheels, tires, wheel wells, door & trunk jambs, etc. Unless the vehicle was subjected to harsh conditions with 13k miles I would imagine it cant be too bad.

For anything mild, I always recomend:

1. Wash - Gold Class soap, 2 buckets, Grit Guards, good quality mitt, towels..
2. Clay - Smooth Surface Clay kit
3. ColorX
4. Wax - Ult wax, Nxt 2.0, etc

There is mild clay like the Smooth Surface Clay kit, or the Pro Line mild clay (blue).

Then there is more agressive clay like the Pro Line Agressive clay (red).

You would just want one of the mild ones. The Smooth Surface kit is probably most straight forward.

No, just dirt bonded on the surface.
