Re: Getting a White car to shine like this..
Mike once again, Thank you so much for your help and also the 1 on 1 training
The car was selected to go up to Laguna Seca for the launch of the new BMW 3 series
Thus the reason I wanted to make it as good as it can get
That is going to be alot of fun but it VERY quickly approaching
It is getting dropped off at the hauler company on the afternoon of the 26th
It is pretty much going to be a shoot like this expect better because it is at Laguna Seca
This car is indeed my daily driver and is really under cover when I am twisting wrenches
It spent a good majority of its life in a garage but for the past 4 years it has been outside
I started the process off by stripping ALL the previous layers of M21 that were on the car
started with a Dawn wash and then upped it to this
that was the first time I had ever used this product on a large scale WOW
stripped the wax and really cleaned deep
The process started by Mike breaking out the thickness gauge and taking readings
I broke out the 7424,speed 5,5" correction disks and the D300 and did the entire car
Mike followed me around the car with the Flex, finishing pad and 205
I did indeed recently pickup some M07 from the guys at the super close Detailing.com
It was pretty much bought with the intention of using it for this prep
We were really amazed at just how the M07 reacted with the paint
put the moisture and and really made this single stage white paint pop
this was my first time using M07 and I must say this paint loved it
I will be used on a pretty regular basis
hides a little bit but the biggest thing is the pop and the moisture
Then it was time for lunch
the parantal's cooked up some BBQ chicken, salad, pineapple, and sweet potato fry's
After lunch we put on a coat of M21 applied via DA and finishing pads
wiped this off and called it a day
Helped Mike pack up his gear into his mild yet Wild PT and then cleaned up the garage
The car did indeed receive a second coating of M21 on last night
pulled it into the garage
wipe it down with Last Touch
waxed with DA with the 6.5" finishing pad
primed a towel with a bit of Last Touch
removed 21 on the paint
then wrapped it up by doing a final hand buffing of the paint with a towel that was sprayed pretty liberally with D156
The results speak for themselves
the paint prep was indeed a success
Mike, thank you so much for your help
That really meant alot to me that you offered to help
O ya, PS the lady walking by and drinking some random cleaner is not at all normal
first time that has ever happened to me lol
I do all my shopping at Detailing.com and there the sky is the limit in terms of products
I have tried quite a few other brands through samples I receive on a pretty regular basis
Mothers,Surf City,Aero,Adams to name a few
Meguiar's is a company that has sealed the deal for me,my car, and my budget
Thursday evenings,Saturday Classes,Customer service, and the overall company and atmosphere
The products can only do so much it is the people and company that back them up what makes me return and swipe the card
