How much correction could be expected from using color x? I know it is considered a cleaner wax but it says it will remove fine swirls. I have the GG DA with 5.5" LC flat pads(orange, white, black) I tried the white pads with color x today on my 03 civic. It looked great but still had swirls. Should I try color x with orange pad? I also have UC but i'm worried it will haze as i've heard how soft Honda's clear coats are.

Re: Color X
Cleaner waxes can on occasion remove fine swirls from paint that likes to play nice, but typically I find cleaner waxes are best for removing light haze from washing/drying/wipe-downs. I would at least be prepared to use a polish or compound in the event that the paint isn't particularly soft/receptive to finer products.

Re: Color X
that's why i always have a cleaner wax in my arsenal. Not necessarily meguiars, since they clean the paint well enough and able to remove some light hazing or marring. Then follow it up with a cleaner free wax. They aren't everything, but it does cut one's detailing time considerably. A very convenient product to use, though it may not be the best in terms of overall protection. Michael stoops had an article some time ago about cars with soft paint wherein he tried several products and several test spots using swirlx colorx and ultimate compound

Re: Color X
Murr got me started using ColorX and loved it since. Goes on easily and off equally as well. Nick is correct, it cleans better than corrects. Pleasant fragrance too and often find it half price at AutoZone. Its a good follow-up to UC and it does a good job removing mild water spots.
Good luck on a short winter.

Re: Color X
I was thinking of buying some ColorX for my collection....but would M66 not be a more economical choice?...I mean a gallon of it is just $26-30 depending on where you look online...whereas a bottle of ColorX is $8-10.
I'm thinking either ColorX or M66 will really help me simplify my process of maintaining my 3 vehicles..."STRIFE" aka Phil

Re: Color X
Strife you are correct it will simplify things, just the other night I had light water spotting on the hood and roof on my white truck reached for the Colorx and the g110 worked the roof and hood over looked so good I decided to do the hole thing, Then topped it all off with NXT 2.0 it turned out great.
I will always have a bottle around in the arsenal.2008 Mazda CX-9 (WIFE'S)

Re: Color X
Applied by machine, the ColorX or M66 can remove some defects. So if you were trying to do that, you would want more speed and working it in.
If just going for some dirt removal and wax, you can go quicker. But still want a little bit of working in to remove the dirt.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue
