Ultimate Quick Detailer AND Ultimate Quick Wax

Hi guys, I have 2 specific questions for you:

1) I just used a polish on my car after washing.. now what I wanted to ask is.. can I use Ultimate Quick Detailer just to mantain the shine that the polish gave me.. or usind UQD will somehow wash away all the sort of "wax" layer that the polish gave me?

2) I just saw a couple of videos about how to use UQD and Ultimate Quick Wax, in the first video they apply UQW after having clean the car with UQD... in the second video they apply the wax and then UQD as final touch... which one should be the most correct way to use these products?

I would add a third question:

1) since I used polish after wash.. should I now even wax the car or the oils that the polish gave me are just enough for protection?

1. What 'polish' product did you use? Some companies will call something a polish, but it will have some wax, etc in it to act as a protective coating. Others, like Meguiars, will not have any wax, etc in the product, and so there is nothing to keep the polishing oils on the car, and they will wash off quite easily.

So if your product had some sort of protective ingrediants, then UQD would be a great follow up. If there was no wax in the product, then UQD, or just the rain, will wash the oils off.

2. UQW needs to be used on a clean surface, so either washing, or using a detailing spray first. (UQD would be an expensive product for doing this, but up to you.) There would be no reason to follow up UQW with anything, and really can be best to leave the synthetic products alone as long as possible for them to set up.

3. Going back to question 1, oils are just oils. If they are just sitting there, they will wash off. So yes, some sort of actual wax should be used if your product did not contain any.

Thank you, that was really helpful.. for the question about the polish.. yes that's a good question. I used an italian brand, at the body shop they told me to use this and not a wax..

and it's written that is a "Product based on smoothing / polishing selected things, dispersed in a thing consisting of waxes, silicone polymers and solvents. Restore the shine
of an opaque old paint, giving a shiny deep."
But how to be sure if it leaved a wax protection coat? Since I washed the car a couple of days ago, if I want add UQW of course I have to a) wash the car again (I won't do it) or b) use UQD to clean just the little film of dust that went on it.. but then.. if in the polish there was really some sort of wax.. I do something wrong if I add also UQW?

Use Ultimate Quick detailer to get rid of any fine dust follow up with Ultimate quick wax and you can't go wrong.

Sounds a bit like what we would call a cleaner/wax. Although the English language page doesnt really mention wax. Cant tell if htye are bouncing between words, or actually mean something.

UQW is meant to be a 'booster wax', which means it is applied over top of a liquid/paste paste wax that has already been applied. Most people would use it after future washes/qd'ing a few days or weeks after the original wax was applied.

Was your car re-painted recently?

Not repainted, but it's 10 years old and 7 months ago I was at body shop to make away some light scratches with some abrasives and polishing the coat.

Yes I have to let it dry before removing.. like.. a wax

I think is what I will do.. I mean.. even if there is some wax in the polish that I used.. I can boost it alredy now after using UQD

For fresh paint, a painter would say to avoid wax for a length of time, so I thought that might be why they said that product. But that isnt the reason then.

But yes that is the plan to use.

Yeah, that is it.

If you have the UQD bottles already, you can just pour the #135 into them.
