    Ahem.......

There is a car show coming and I was approached to put my NSX in the show. It is mostly muscle cars and and such with a special category of Imports. A few questions:

1-Never having shown the NSx, I'm a little aprehensive about it. Two days of it seems a little long. Have you shown your car before? and what advice to bring to make the time pass, (Indoor show.)

2-I just finished detailing my NSX and the show is a few weeks away. If I go, what detailing other than normal wash/wax should I do?

3-Would you rate being in a car show as a positive experience or not?

Thank you in advance for you reply.

    Hello sky!

First and foremost, best of luck if you decide to enter the show. I'm sure you'll see a wide array of vehicles with a wide array of overall condition. It has always amazed me, after attending a few shows, the condition of some of the vehicles (both good and bad).

    As for your questions.

    1. I have no idea on this one. Hopefully someone here will be able to help you out.

    2. Show Car detailing is, in my opinion, a little bit different beast. You need to get overly meticulous on EVERYTHING on the vehicle. Door jams, EVERYTHING under the hood, every body line, etc... etc... etc... My advice is to spend a few hours just hunting for things that you can detail and to be very anal about what to look for. Heck, you might even want to consider the exposed components in the wheel wells among other things.

    3. Very positive experience in my opinion. When I showed my 01 King Ranch, I found myself paying a closer attention to detail that I had previously over looked. I found places on the truck that really needed some attention but, after looking at the same places for years, I had grown accustomed to them being lack-luster. In turn, by prepping for a show, I discovered these areas again and made sure that the attention to detail was unsurpassed so that I could bring home some hardware (although, never did.. ha! -- only two shows).

You're going to rub elbows out there with other folks who are PASSIONATE about their vehicles. 99% of these folks, that I've met at least, are SUPER people and will bend over backward to help out a fellow enthusiast. It's a tough crowd with opinions because they know what they're looking for and at but, on the other hand, they're the best people that you'll ever meet.

    Again, best of luck!

ps: I moved one of your pictures from your original post down one line so that they weren't sitting next to each other thus causing the size of the viewable screen to be about three pages wide.
