Nail varnish on leather

    Nail varnish on leather

    Hi all,
    my girlfriend has decided that she would share her nail varnish and put some on the leather seat material.
    its a patch the size of a thumb nail, any ideas on how to remove?

    All help greatly appreciated.

      Nail polish remove could be tricky because many of them contain acetone or some similar, fairly potent, solvent. Such a product could easily damage the coating on the leather seats, so we're always hesitant to suggest anything that potentially aggressive. If you choose to go that route, use it very sparingly, don't rub it aggressively on the surface, and clean it off with at least a bit of warm water on a clean towel. It's doubtful that any product we make is going to be all that effective at removing nail polish from leather, at least not with a good bit of rubbing and that's just never a good idea on leather.

        Just going to pick at it, try a few products.
        The material is marked, so can't get any worse.

          Glue and tar remover.

          WHat ever you use is going to have an effect and without a doubt where the stain is, you'll always have some discoloration. I wouldn't use nail varnish remover as that will likely also remoer the pigment in the leather also.

            Ok, so here it goes.
            not sure if it is coincidence or not, but a little leather cleaner and left it.
            considering when I first started the thread, the stain has gone.
            now that is magic.
