probably not what you want
hi.
I don't know what you mean by foam gun.
I use a Pageris stainless steal foam gun in construction. I am able to have TOTAL control over the foam. I can get any type of bead. Better yet, I don't have to throw away the can like the foam can you buy at the major warehouses. I leave the can on the gun for the next time I need to use it.
I use it when installing windows and air sealing in the basement and attic. Insulation is important, but sealing air leaks is number one. For example, seal the air leaks in the attic with foam and then put the insulation down. This also solves the problem of ice damming on roofs (melting and then refrezing at the eaves).

I use it to apply a pre-wash solution, others use it with their car wash concentrate, very easy to use, adjustable dilution rate.
Foam Spray Gun:
Fill (Butchers® Shower Foam Gun) the container with pre-wash solution (Stage One Prewash) that contains amino functional surfactants that penetrate and encapsulate the soils to enable their removal. Set the dilution ratio to a suitable setting of the five that are available. Take your time and flow the foam over each panel, agitate with a sheepskin mitt using the foam gun in one hand, and the mitt in the other, once all of the panels have been completed, rinse vehicle with clean water and dry thoroughly.

I paid $58 locally. I have nothing but praise for this tool and I can't ever see going back to only the 2 bucket method. ( I do use it in conjunction with it). Having the constant stream of soapy foam solution and gently whisking a mitt a portion of a panel at a time prevents marring. You don't have to take a painstaking, tedious, time consuming approach as I do ( fully understanding time constraints, especially for a pro who must conduct a full detail in one setting, make using it this way impractical) but to me it's well worth saving the finishing froming having to polish out swirls or marring later on. Accumulator from Autopia introduced me to this fine tool. I'll never be without one.
Here's the full fledged, overkill method:

Just curious,
I am wondering how using one of these saves times or makes washing your car more efficent? I have never used one, but I would think you could only soap one area at a time, then wash, and rinse that area before the soap would dry. I guess I am not seeing the advantage from doing it the the old fashioned soap in a bucket way.
Could some who has used one let us know if it is a real time saver?
Thanks much,
Tom
