  • meguiars glaze 7

hey guys not sure wehre to post so i chose this one

i made a stupid mistake with meguiars glaze 7 and didnt wipe it all off when i rewashed my car after application. i sealed with four star UPP with the glaze still on some parts of my white car, and now the few spots of glaze appears as stains trapped under the sealant. Shame on me for not noticing at first -_-

should i be concerned about this? will the glaze come off if i strip off the sealant?

Yeah, just a smear, nothing damaging.

No need to wash the car after using it though?

Why did you use #7 if you were applying a sealant? From what I've read, #7 is very oily, and sealants won't have a good bond with it.

I agree with Murr. Just a streak. 7 is fine with a sealant (the oil glaze must go with natural wax is a myth as far as i know). And no need to wash after you apply.

i read a lot of mixed reviews and procedures bout glaze7, so I got kinda confused lol

I spread it thinly, let it stay on for 10 min instead of wowo, then wiped off with microfiber towel 3passes. I read somewhere here you can wash afterwards for further cleansing, but I guess I was sloppyn

ended up claying one of the spots and the stains gone

thanks for the advice and responses guys!

and as for the oils before sealant, I read bout the bonding myth after I did my glaze/sealant combo lol might have to redo the potection for winter then

#7 ( or other pure polish) is just oils. So washing after can wash some of the oils off. Apparently doesnt wash off heavy smears easily, but wouldnt want to apply a thin coat and wash it off either. Kind of wasting your time applying it then.

The clay can remove the wax, so might want to re-wax the area if you didnt.

As you said, just a myth. Never seen it affect me any.
