  • Cloudy fresh paint

    Hi guys,
I just got my car repainted, but the finish is a bit cloudy...
first time i think it's because that the painter is stupid enough to wax the fresh paint and not remove the wax completely, but after I wash, it seem the paint is still cloudy...

try UC on small spot and the cloud is disappear, but still have to wait if it will reappear or not...

I wish i can finish this problem on my own, cos I don't want to go to the painter again, my car got tons of swirls because of him

why can this happen, do somebody have a suggestion ?

    thanks guys

the cloud is so thin Murr, I don't camera will get that, but i think i'll try ...

do you have any idea why or any guest ? can it because it have so much swirls on it so the paint look cloudy ?
it like when you use compound and not completly remove it, the different just that after washing it with GC shampoo, it still there ==a

      thanks Murr

Can you inspect your car in sunlight ?

It sounds like you have holograms/ buffer trails left by body shop finishing with their rotary buffer. Unfortunately many cars leave body shops with defects.

As you already experienced UC will remove them.

yup, ton's of holograms for sure... so, is hologram can make paint look cloudy ?

i was to afraid to use UC on fresh paint until 10 minutes ago i re-read Mike Stoop post that UC is fresh paint friendly...
i think i misread it in the past as i though i read UC is not fresh paint friendly..

          thanks greg

With holograms present your paint has no clear reflection. Clouds-like look is very common.

            UC is similar to M105.

You could also wait about 30-60 days, until fresh paint fully cures, and then do correction step and protection/ wax.
