  • How to clean foam pads?

    Hey guys,
I don't have those foam pad cleaners (the powder thing you put in water) or the grit guard pad washer.
I was wondering what might be a effective way to wash my foam pads.
    maybe using Dawn dish soap?

    -Thank you!

Pre-soak them in a water bucket mixing warm water and all purpose cleaner (it could be Dawn or Simple Green as well) for about 20-30 minutes. Use about 1/3 cup of a cleaner per gallon of water. After that agitate them with a brush, rinse in clean water and wring out. Let them fully dry before using again.

If you could wash buffing pads used for waxing separately it would be better.

What foam pads do you have? If you have the Meguiar's softbuff 2.0 pads then you can just throw them in the washing machine and be done with it. However, if you don't want to machine wash your foam pads, you can spray your APC or APC+ on the face of the pad, let it sit for a couple of minutes and gently massage it with your thumb. Cleaner/Polishes should come out clean.
