There really are not many "bad" pads, it's just a matter of personal preference. I like Lake Country hydrotech pads, but they take a little getting used to. Meguiars softbuff 2.0 pads are easy to clean, and very durable. They are my current favorite assuming the correction doesn' require anything more aggressive than their polishing pad.

Re: what are your favorite pad brand?????

exactly which one of these pads compare to the Softbuff polishing/finishing pads in either the regular CSS pads (http://www.autogeek.net/lake-country-ccs-pack1.html) or the hydrotech pads (http://www.autogeek.net/hydro-tech-foam-pads.html)

So many choices! I guess you dont use the cutting pads, only polishing and finishing on the DA correct. uggg my head is spinning. I have my cart full of meguiar's softbuff and softbuff2.0s right now but will get these if I knew which to get as they are quite a bit cheaper (6 meguiars pads are costing like $90 and I can get 6 LCs for $35 (5 1/2" pads that is)

Also I read somewhere that for the G110V1, it is better to use the smaller pads as it is a little less powerful than the G110V2...correct?

Re: what are your favorite pad brand?????

You can use cutting pads on a DA with no issues - any notions that the DA cannot be used for heavy polishing work are outdated. I would not get the CCS pads for a DA - better to get flat pads, so you maximize the working area of the pad and will therefore polish faster. For the regular flat pads, get orange for cutting, white for polishing, and black for finishing; for the Hydrotech, it's cyan for cutting, tangerine for polishing, and crimson for finishing. Also, get the thinner, low-profile pads, again because these are easier to spin and therefore allow you to work more efficiently.

Re: what are your favorite pad brand?????

My pad choice depends on the chore at hand.
                    1. cutting and serious paint correction - Meguiars Microfiber pad , Surbuff pads
                    2. LC hydro 7/8 crimson for finishing
Lots of other paint conditions (hard or soft paint etc) may require a variety of pads from various manufactures. Also in my arsenal are Meguiars wool, LC purple foamed wool, LC white etc.

Having both DA and rotary require a larger selection of pad choices.

Re: what are your favorite pad brand?????

I don't have a "favorite" pad brand as i am relatively noobish to the DA.
But in my arsenal, i have Meguiars 7" & 4" black & yellow pads, Griots garage 3" white glass/3" yellow scrubbing/ 3" red waxing/ 3" orange polish pads, Griots garage 6" orange & 6" red pads. I also have some 4" buff & shine pads.
                      All these pads are for my Griot's Garage 3 & 6 DA's.
