I soak my pads in dawn, then use a stiff nylon brush to help remove any caked on product. I simply press the water out, and allow them to finish air drying. Do not wring the pads out, or spin them on your PC.

      pads

      That sounds great!

if there is any other suggestions, I'd value your opinion.

Also, They seem to take forever to air dry. I know your not supposed to spin em' or blow dry, but it seems it is just a wait and see affair?

Stand the pad up on end on a towel... all the water will move to the one end and dry quick!

As far as Meguiar's recommendation go, we recommend cleaning them with a nylon brush like a toothbrush or our new Triple Duty Detailing brush when they are dry. This will remove the dried excess product from the surface.

When they are still wet, you can hold them against a soft, absorbent fluffy cotton towel and push against the towel with the polisher in the on position, this will help to transfer excess product into the towel and out of the foam pad.

You can remove the foam pad from the polisher and roll it up inside a , soft, absorbent fluffy cotton towel and squish any excess product out of them and into the towel.

While Meguiar's doesn't recommend washing our foam buffing pads out with soap and water, apparently a lot of people are doing this and having good results if they wash them out by hand and not by machine.

Here's a thread where Jimmy Buffit describes his method that seems to be working for him.

We use a 3 bucket method:

          1. Dawn soak for several hours or more. Hand scrub/agitate, squeeze dry.

          2. Rinse, squeeze, rinse squeeze, repeat.

          3. Rinse, squeeze, rinse squeeze, repeat.

If the water in the third bucket is still clear, squeeze, and spin in bucket #4 via the PC or rotary for 10 seconds, and air-dry over night.

Kinda labor/time intensive, but, at $10-12 each, these pads deserve special attention.

          Oh Yeah, heat is bad...

Hey guys, here's how I dry my Lake Country pads...with an old CB antenna over the wash tub in the laundry room.

I prefer Murphy's Oil Soap over DAWN because the Murphy's cleans just as well AND rinses a WHOLE LOT EASIER out of the pads than DAWN does.
