I'm having a hard time trying to get the yellow off my winter rims. I've used all purpose cleaners and it still doesn't come off...I don't know what else to use to get it the yellow off...it drives me crazy looking at it.
Do you know what they are? I can't tell what they are. Have you tried using Meguiar's wheel brightener? How about clay?
I'm not sure what it is...during the winter months i don't scrub the rims i just spray them down at the car wash... normally spring and fall i wash them and wax them.
I've never used wheel brightener...it's hard to find a place to ship me that stuff cause i live in canada...i have used meguirs mild clay but still no luck
Looks like traditional brake dust to me.
Get in there with a foam pad and some UC, that should remove it.
This is what we would suggest since they seem more stained than anything. These are painted wheels so any paint cleaner should be perfectly safe to use - just use common sense and don't scrub in one spot for a long time with an aggressive applicator. But a reasonable application of Ultimate Compound with a foam applicator pad should give these wheels a good deep cleaning. Follow up with whatever wax you have on hand, preferably a synthetic like NXT or Ultimate Wax.

Wheel Brightener usualy works wonder on this kind of stain. You spray on, let soak for a few seconds and wipe it clean. It did a nice job on the factory rims my sister only uses in winter on her Civic.
Too bad it is very hard to find here in Canada.
I tried UC compound but it was Wasn't working... I ended up using acetone it worked wonders then I waxed the rins with some kind of sealant auto geek gave me as samples..
