  • Please help.........minor problems during my first use with a da polisher

So after much reading here I was confident enough to order a pc 7424xp and the Meg's microfiber da correction system.

    Process:
    • washed car
    • clay barred
    • washed again
    • started to buff car with the correction compound
So far so good, until.........................my brand new pc 7424xp stopped working about 40% into the fist step (correction)

THE REAL QUESTION: I now have my replacement pc. The car remained in my garage and has not been driven. It does now have a thin layer of dust on the car from sitting for a week. What should I do?

    a) dust off car with air compressor and just get back to correction
    b) use UQD to clean off dust and get back to correction
    c) wash the whole car with 2 bucket method and then get back to correction

Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge and expertise with me. And for the record I wanted the Meg's polisher after my experience with the pc but the Meg's is backordered

IMO, the best thing will be choice "B". You only accumulated light dust with the car sitting in the garage. It's not heavy dirt or road grime from driving so there's no need to wash the car. Choice "C" will also be fine if you're more comfortable with that but it's not necessary given your circumstance.

I wouldn't do choice "A" though. I don't think pressurized air can remove dust from the car.

Thanks Marc08EX....................my main concern was if the UQD would leave any residue/wax that would adversely affect the correction I'm doing.

Cars is definitely not "dirty"........just dusty.

UQD will leave some polymers behind but your cleaner polish will cut through that no problem. It shouldn't adversely affect your corrections.
