    Re: Leaf blower

Been using a little "Barracuda" #2595 (by WeedEater) electric leaf blower to dry the vehicles, for several years. I think it was about $40. It blows 195 MPH, weighs 7 pounds or so, and works just great.

        Re: Leaf blower

I've never had a problem using my 2 cycle gas blower as described in the first post, eg, oil fumes residue. I'd get the Toro electric model recommended here just to be safe, but hate messing with the cord.

only what i read years ago on 2 cycle blowers.that small amounts of fume oil/gas can blow out exhaust and on to your car.

I use the electric Toro blower as well. I find that it leaves VERY fine water droplets and follow with Meg's Synthetic X-Press Wax on a micro fiber for a perfect finish.

              Re: Leaf blower

I just saw the Toro (51585) at a Surplus Store for $10 - No returns though. I've been washing cars, 1 day a week (about 3-5 per day) for the last 10 years. I hand wash them, use a California Water Blade and a Meguiar's Water Magnet to dry them. If I get this blower how would I use it?
Sheet the water off, blow the roof, blow off the windows, Trunk & hood, door handles, sides & bumpers & wheels?
OR dry with Water Magnet and just blow out emblems, handles, mirrors, and trunk around license plate?
I didn't buy the blower yesterday because I was thinking dust would be blown into the water drops.

                Re: Leaf blower

I forgot to say...I work in a 100% closed underground parking garage. Nothing dries like it does outside. My biggest pet peeves are water drops from mirrors & moldings and I have big problems with drying tires enough to apply tire shine. (i know - What gripes!!!) Anyway, will this 7amp blower conquer my problems?

I hate having a perfectly spotless car, then driving down the street having the side-mirror water spewing all over the sides of my car! I've drilled small holes at the bottom of the mirror housings, but they don't help much.

i like to open my truck doors on both sides.
then take leaf blower to vents and dash, seats, under seats and blow everything out the side doors.
it makes interior real nice and i dont have to use vacuum too much.

very quick, like 5 minutes max playing around.
i erven took it into my home and blew out the dust and fuzz from my refrigerator cooling fins.
my fins you cant reach with brush and electric leaf blower gets it all out then i use vacuum to get it.

i also blew out my dryer vent hose on dryer.
so it has a lot of uses and worth the expense.

#51592 is one to get not 51585

i thought i was the only one who did stuff like that!! cleans gutters good, too. also heating ducts. cheaper than a company comin in to do it. took a bit of prep to keep the dust from ending up in the house, but with a home made adapter to hook my shop vac up to a register and done properly, it worked great.
