  • Advise needed for new single stage paint

I'm sorry if this is asked and answered somewhere else but I searched for nearly an hour and couldn't find an answer.

I just got a new white single stage paint job on my daily driver. (The car was already white to begin with.) It is not a show car by any means howver I still would like to keep it looking nice.

The paint shop told me never to wax it. True?

If I can wax/polish it, which product do you recommend?

    Thanks!

Yeah, why would you never wax it....

You will want to wait 60 days or so before waxing.

After that, you can treat it like any regular paint we work on here:

    1. Wash: Gold Class soap, 2 buckets, Grit Guards, good towels, sponges, etc.
    2. Clay - Smooth Surface Clay kit
    3. Clean/Polish - Ult. Polish would be a good choice for a mild cleaner, and has a lot of polishing oils that SS paints like.
    4. Wax - Kind of depends on what you like, here... Nxt 2.0, Gold Class+, Ult. Wax are all options.
    5. Wax - 2 thin coats are best.

    6. Maintain - Ult. Quick Wax is great for after future washes.

Or, if in a bit more of a hurry, etc:
    1. Wash
    2. Clay if needed
    3. ColorX
    4. Wax

makes for a nice quick detail.
