  • Need help: is there any way to remove these scratches or surface deficiencies

    Hi all. My car is a blue one, as my avatar shows. I have few surface deficiencies and I dont know how can I remove them or at least make them look better.

    1\ (sorry about the huge size of the pic). the worst ones are at the bumper, very deep, and seems like they break the base layer already?
    ========================================
    2\ There are also some small spots on the hood, as shown by the arrows. Those are not dusts, but very tiny dented areas with paint cut off. Honestly I dont even know how come of these.

    Notably, in pic 1, the base layer over the scratches is blue, whereas in pic 2, the base layer is white or silver

    alrite, I think my question is there any way that I can remove those deficiencies? some told me the paint fix pen is my only choice. what do you think? If that is all I have to do, any suggestions for the operation?

    tons of thanks

      Pic-1 Not sure what these cracks are. Look like the clear coat was cracked.

      Pic-2: Stone chips from the small rocks from the road. inevitable in day-to-day driving. Touch-up paint can improve the appearance but not eliminate them.

        The first pic looks like damage from some high-velocity debris. Could be caused by tailgating, or a car in the next lane that's slightly ahead of you. The ones in the first pic can be touched up with some clear from a bottle of touch-up, but the only real way to get it looking new again would be to sand, prime and paint that area, blending the paint into the surrounding area so there's no line, and then re-clear the whole panel.

            Well the spidery cracks make it a larger defect, probably too large for dabbing with touch-up paint or clear. You can try it, but to get professional results you'll have to basically spot repair that area and then spray paint over it, blending the repair into the existing paint, and then spray clear over the whole panel. You can try blending the clear too but its not recommended because you will probably start to see a line where the edges of the new clear are. That goes for any sizeable defect, whether it be a dent or a large chip or anything larger than a spec.
