I don't know if it's me or this is just how they all are but to me it seems like the bonnet should fit more uniform over the pad? it's a 9-10" bonnet while I haven't used it yet I wonder if this would be an issue?
Yeah it turned out ok I picked up some new pads and they fit better.. Not bad for a 15 year old car.
I used the claybar kit.. Since this was my first time I have to use less wax to start off with because it was a little hard to polish because so much wax was still on the car.. it did work better with a microfiber bonnet.
I've owned the car since May of this year I have washed it with the meguiar's car wash at least 3 times since I owned the car but today was the first time I waxed So this is the order I did
Washed with Meguiar's car wash
Meguair's clay kit
Now as far as the wax I was unsure about my #26 wax because I had it for awhile as in like 5 years so I ended up using Meguiar's Gold Class
All my other times i did it by hand so when I first put the wax on the terry bonnet I must of put too much because it never really hazed over (it was chilly today) but I let it sit for about 20-25 min, when it was time to take it up I used a synthetic wool but it was not doing a good job at all (it was just spreading the wax around) so I switched to the microfiber bonnet and it was doing fine after that.
I'm sure I will have more questions since I plan on repainting the car black next year.

Not really any old wax to worry about then.

If it still shakes up well, with nothing separated, it is probably ok still.

Well, between the bonnet and the pad absorbing some wax, and the chilly/damp air slowing down the hazing, was probably fighting a few things there.
Ok well that's good I can still use the wax So tomorrow or Maybe Monday I'm going to try again on another car.. From what I understand #26 is just a polish right?
MikeCL- If you like using that orbital buffer / waxer, try this type of foam bonnet for applying polish and/or wax, and use your microfiber bonnets for removing -----> http://www.walmart.com/ip/Turtle-Wax...t-1pk/16879678
