Flex 3401 and the Makita B06040 do you(those who have used them)feel that the manufacturers could make them a bit more aggressive (more bite)power etc.and yet remain user/paint finish friendly?
As a Flex 3401 user I estimate its cutting ability as 80% of rotary buffers. It's much faster than traditional dual action polishers (that's why it's called D/A on steroids). If faster removal needed I just step up to rotary.
Another way to bring cut level higher is to take advantage of Meguiar's microfiber discs. They really increase working area and make defect removal faster and more effective.
The forced rotation tools seem to pretty well split the difference between a traditional DA and a rotary, even with some overlap on both sides depending on what products, pads and speeds are used. It's doubtful that we really need something between a forced rotation and rotary. Heck, plenty of people do incredible work with just a DA and rotary and don't see any real need for something those two
