  • Wax Recommendation After Ult. Compound and Polish

Hi, can anyone recommend me a common wax to use after applying ultimate compound and ultimate polish?

I looked at these two pages, and did not know which one to choose. (Link 1 and Link 2)

I prefer liquid or spray on wax, as long as it is easy to use. Thanks in advance!

Generally, you would a liquid/paste wax as a 'base', and then a spray wax as a 'booster' after future washes.

As far as which, kind of up to you. Ult. Wax or Nxt 2.0 would be most durable. They apply a bit different, Nxt 2.0 is more traditional.

Tell us a bit about your car. Some folks will make recommendations based on your car. Although choice of wax is sometimes a very personal preference.

Also Link 2 is Ultimate Quik Wax, which is often considered a booster for your base coat of wax. So you wax your car with the "common" wax as your base coat and after the next time you wash you use Ultimate Quik Wax to boost your base coat of wax. Ultimate Quik Wax can also be used routinely to increase shine after you dust your car.

I have been using NXT 2.0 Liquid with good results on many different colors and paints. You really can't go wrong with NXT. Ultimate Wax would be another good option, although the application of NXT is going to be more traditional, and probably easier than Ultimate Wax.

Interesting,,, I can't understand what's your mean from "traditional"?
when we talking about liquid and paste waxes, yeas, the past has more traditional style. but what's the issue here while both are liquid?

Traditional would mean that you apply the wax in a thin coat, and then let dry, and then buff off the excess.

The new Ult. Wax, and esp the liquid, apply a bit differently. Generally you want to apply to a panel or two at a time, then remove right away. Sometimes with a few drops of water if you have any smears.

quick question, my last coat of wax is Gold Class Carnauba Plus. I'm seeing alot of sugestion to use UQW for maintenance(inbetween washes) would this defeat the purpose using carnauba as top layer of my wax? UQW is synthetic.

                  Havent seen any complaints yet.

I would use UQW over anything.

I tried that advice and am very happy.

-UW for the first (base) coat (1 coat)
-M26 Carnuba for the second (coverage) coat.
                          -UQW for a booster.
Success is never final, failure is never fatal. It's courage that counts.

Good job! I thought both wax layers must be from a same product! have you ever test both layers with UW to compare? what's your car's color?

Meguiars LSP's (waxes and sealants) all play well with each other. Meguiars doesn't buy into the layering syndrome that some other companies do. They state two coats to make sure you have even coverage. It seems to work well for me!!
