  • Detailing Tail Lights?

What products or methods do you use to clean/polish the two important red things in the rear called Tail Lights?

  • #2
Paint is a form of plastic and what works on paint can to a degree work on plastic. Meguiars has plastX that I polished a plastic windscreen out on an airplane. I havnt tried it on tailights yet.

plastx or the 2-step plastic cleaner/polish. You may want to remove the tail light and clean the inside portion as well so there is increased optical clarity. A nice set of tails accents great looking paint.

        Hey,

Meguiar's PlastX works wonderfully on tail lights/headlights! Just make sure to REALLY work the product until it basically turns clear/light residue, then remove with a quality MF towel.

        Cheers!

Yes, PlastX works great. I had no idea that my taillights had a hazy film on them until I used the PlastX. It does need to be reapplied periodically to keep that fresh look, though.

PlastX would do wonders for the clear plastics. Just make sure to work it in...

Often, most headlamps will suffer from haze on the internal plastic lens. That's one of my concern on poorly designed headlamps.

I use PlastX on my head/taillights and then wax them with #20. Clarity is excellent due to the PlastX, shine and protection is excellent due to the #20. I wax them every time I wax my car.
