  • Leather?

Summer is coming and so is the heat.

Currently i am using Megs Leather wipes. Are these designed to be used as a leather quicky or is it a stand alone product?

I am looking for the best product to use on black seats and dash? The car is 5 years old, if that matters. I just want the best protection?

    What does everyone recomend?

And how frequently, the car is garaged during the night, and maybe 2-3 days a week, but even 3 days a week can be "hell" in florida lol.

Sorry if this has been beaten to death already

While I havent used the wipes, I am under the impression they are more of a quick maintenance product, even though a very good one. The UV protection would be espeacialy good for your situation.

However, periodic use of products like the Gold Class Rich Leather Cleaner and Conditioner will probably be the best, then wiped with the wipes inbetween.

The conditioner and cleaner will both be able to be applied with a nice soft brush or cloth, and worked into the surface a little more.

I tend to feel that 1-step products are always a less effective than doing each step separately. For instance, even though Meguairs cleaner/wax is an excellent product, doing separete cleaning/polishing/waxing steps has always given me bettter results. My instinct says you'll get even better results with separete cleaning and conditioning steps.

      Hey,

For a quick clean up of light spills etc, the wipes work great! However for genral cleaning and conditioning, I would suggest using one of Meguiar's leather products. My personal favorite is the Detailer Series Leather Cleaner & Conditioner! It really cleans the leather, as well as leaving it soft and supple.

      Hope this helps!

I believe that products specific to their intended purpose are usually the best. It follows, then, that you should have 2 products - a leather cleaner and a leather conditioner. I like Lexol but that's just me. Clean about 4 times a year (maybe a little more if you have a convertible) and condition about once a month. You don't have to clean to condition but you do have to condition after cleaning. Lots of threads about this. Good luck.
